Logan Uniting Church has 3 key focus areas for Global Mission at present:

We believe that God has called us to be on mission with Him both locally and globally.

Compassion Church Partnership

We have a focus on supporting the wonderful work of Compassion in several projects around the city of Iloilo, Philippines. Our sponsorship of children in these programs provides discipleship, Bible studies, medical and dental checkups, sports, nutritious food, tutoring, letter writing training and educational field trips. The centres we support also provide parenting education. We have the opportunity to visit the children we sponsor and connect with the work.

The Philippines Mission

For a number of years now, Logan Uniting Church has had a growing relationship with the Manobo Hill tribe people of Mindanao in the Philippines. The Manobo people are one of the least educated minority groups in the Philippines and live a largely subsistence farming lifestyle. We have formed a strategic partnership with ethnic missionaries from the Philippines who are reaching out to these people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We support these missionaries financially and teams from Logan Uniting Church regularly visit Mindanao to encourage them, share with the people and to gain a greater understanding of the issues facing the Manobo. One of the most exciting recent developments is the financial support that Logan Uniting Church provides to assist the education of a number of children in the region.

Thailand Mission

Recently, Logan Uniting Church began talking with a mission organisation in Northern Thailand about an exciting opportunity. OMF operate a Bible School called the “James O. Fraser Centre” in Northern Thailand equipping pastors to plant churches. The students are predominantly from the Lisu people group who live in both Thailand and Myanmar. The opportunity to partner with a mission in Thailand gives Logan Uniting Church opportunities to add value to the relationship. Specifically, mission teams travel to Thailand annually – with whatever skills they bring – to assist the students and missionaries with their studies and work.
